Delicious Vegan Burger

Bean, beetroot and brown rice burger perfect for your next Braai!

- 2 cups cooked black beans (cooled/room temp.)
- 2 cups cooked brown rice (cooled/room temp.)
- 1 cooked grated beetroot (cooled/room temp.)
- 1-2 cloves garlic
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons BBQ sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari sauce
- 1 tablespoon flaxseed flour
- 2 tablespoon tapioca flour or corn starch (if you find the mixture is too wet and not sticky enough can add extra of this a little at a time)
- Paprika to taste (we put about 1/2 teaspoon for these qualities)

- Mush beans and rice together in a bowl until beans are broken up.
- Add the beetroot, garlic, salt, pepper, BBQ sauce, soy/tamari sauce, flaxseed and tapioca flour to the bowl and mix thoroughly until ingredients make a sticky mixture that can be made into balls.
- Slightly oil your washed hands to make palm sized patties about 1.5-2cm thick, these ingredients make about 8 patties.
- Refrigerate for a few hours until firm.
- Cook in a skillet for 8-10 minutes on the braai or in a non stick pan on the stove top.
- Dress your burger, serve and enjoy!
